Martha started up her greenhouses because she had a difficult time finding plants for her own purposes. The market garden got started when Martha and Stuart planted a garden that was too big for their family, and the business bloomed from there. The Pumpkin Lady farm covers 11 acres. A greenhouse is also maintained where annuals, hanging baskets and fresh herbs are grown. In the fall school kids come for a tour of the farm and pick a pumpkin. The school kids would see us in town and say “there is the pumpkin lady”. That is how our name came about. All produce is grown here.
